Location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal

Responsibilities:

As a Stationery Buyer, you will play a key role in ensuring our product offerings meet the diverse needs of our customers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Establish and maintain relationships with stationery suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and pricing.
· Formulates pricing strategies and provides guidance to department managers, assisting with the coordination of in-store promotional activities.
· Curate a diverse and innovative range of stationery products, staying abreast of industry trends and customer preferences.
· Monitor inventory levels, identify fast-moving items, and implement strategies to minimize overstock and stockouts.
· Stay informed about market trends, competitor offerings, and emerging stationery products to maintain a competitive edge.
· Work closely with the finance team to develop and manage the stationery procurement budget effectively.
· Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality and consistency of stationery products, conducting periodic quantity and quality checks.

Qualifications:
· Proven experience as a Buyer or Purchasing Agent, preferably in the stationery or office supplies industry.
· Strong negotiation and communication skills.
· Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
· Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
· Works well under pressure
· Good understanding of retail, the consumer and marketing

Education and Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
· Consideration will be given to candidates with relevant work experience in lieu of a BCom degree, provided they have successfully completed Grade 12.
· 3+ years of experience in procurement, with a focus on stationery or office supplies.
· Knowledge working with Pastel Accounting
