POSITION: CATEGORY SPECIALIST (PACKAGING) – SA CONSUMER BRANDS
REPORTS TO: PROCUREMENT MANAGER – SA CONSUMER BRANDS
LOCATION: BRYANSTON – HEAD OFFICE

JOB OBJECTIVE:
• Ensure quality packaging materials are purchased at competitive prices in a timely fashion to meet production requirements
• Adherence to procurement policy and procedure whilst ensuring regulatory compliance
• Support the S&OP process to improve efficiencies and ensure business excellence
• Ensure cross functional collaboration to deliver against targets
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure service level achievement

JOB DESCRIPTION
• Timeously source and procure packaging as per the approved cost and specification against the MRP to meet planning and production requirements
• Generate requisitions, issue and maintain purchase orders; manage related documentation; liaise with relevant parties; ensure compliance for all packaging requirements
• Ensure accuracy in artwork; maintain artwork database; adherence to artwork specifications
• Expedite deliveries to ensure timeous delivery
• Measure supplier performance in line with required KPI’s
• Assist in achieving NWC targets
• Support BBBEE targets
• Support the NPD process by sourcing packaging related materials to meet implementation dates
• Maintain necessary supply records
• Identify supply risks and implement mitigation plans
• Support other functions within Operations to enable world class commercial operations

OPERATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS
• Ensure delivery of KPIs.
• High workplace operations standards and ethics
• Act with integrity – honour commitments, take responsibility for decisions, and behave consistently.
• Maintain appropriate communication within and between the functional areas of the Commercial Operations Team

QUALIFICATION AND SKILLS
• Qualification in Supply Chain, or equivalent
• Minimum 5yrs Procurement experience in FMCG or Consumer Healthcare is beneficial
• Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
