Chemical Sales Executive Cape Town

Our Well-established Manufacturing client are looking for a Chemical Sales Executive with a Chemistry / Chemical Qualification with a 3 ++ years Sales Background. To perform, monitor and manage all sales activities utilising the SAP system and ensuring high level customer satisfaction and high-quality order fulfilment. Please note that this will be Office based position with travelling National as well as International Travel when required to visit clients (From time to time).

Salary: CTC (Excellent Basic + Medical Aid + Pension)

Minimum Requirements:
• University degree, Diploma in Chemistry / Chemical
• 3+ years’ experience in similar position as Sales Executive / Account Management role
• Sales and marketing knowledge to implement sales principles, strategies related to industrial products
• Problem-solving techniques is required to determine root causes of problems the job faces.
• Alternative solutions and recommendations assist management decisions.
• Computer Literacy – MS Office / ERP Systems / SAP experience
• Ability to analyse and solve problems.
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
• Ability to negotiate and manage contractual arrangements.
• Ability to run and manage effective meetings and presentation skills.

Key Duties
• Utilizing SAP System for issuing orders, quotations, proforma invoices and order issuance. Monitor the order status on the system to ensure the safety of further processes.
• Checking the L/C’s as well as shipping documentation in close coordination with the documentation department and banks for preparation of documents to prevent demurrage. Informing customers of the status of original documents.
• Sending the vessel nominations to the customers and getting confirmation for the nominated vessels from port authorities.
• Close coordination with the logistics department to monitor status and itinerary of vessels and updating the movement of the vessel as well as the ETA’s to the customers.
• Periodical storage tanks stock control to monitor the material releases. Ensuring the order closing by logistics department.
• Supportive functions for sales reports preparation.
• Coordination with the time charter department to check demurrage claims; informing customers of demurrage claims; informing customers of demurrage amounts and tracking demurrage payments.
• Customer Credit defining with guidance of local sales responsible
• Responsibility to create new customers and input customer complaints in SAP as well as ensure closures.
• Checking the customer’s account balances for overdue amounts in the system. Ensuring the closure of the final invoices.
• Preparing sales contracts, Memorandums of Understanding (MOU’s), for customers.
