Position : Chief Executive Officer

To provide leadership, strategic and operational management of the organisation, ensuring the organisation's financial success whilst remaining in line with the ethics and values of the organisation and the group

Job Specification, Duties include but not limited to:

• Ensure staff levels are met and managed
• Liaise with other functional / departmental managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of operational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements
• Observe departmental progression and provide a supporting role to all departments to assist in the achievement of organisational objectives
• Facilitate the development and promotion of staff through means of training and development
• Devise a succession plan to ensure the successor is trained to assume to management of the company
• Build and maintain a strong sense of staff identity, together with a sense of allegiance to the company
• Establish and maintain appropriate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development
• Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities and development plans and achievements within agreed formats and timescales
• Manage and control organisational expenditure within agreed budgets i.e. the company assets and all other company resources to maximise the company's profitability
• Review analyses of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine the business progress toward stated goals and objectives
• Set and manage performance targets
• Ensure the operations business continuity and recovery requirements are met
• Accept legal responsibility for the company's affairs and ensure compliance with the appropriate rules and regulations set out in corporate law inclusive of following the proper audit procedures and not permitting the company to break any laws or deal with any illegal goods
• Promote principles of corporate governance within the organisation
• Chair management committee meetings and provide direction to the management team in terms of identified company objectives
• Report to the board of Directors on a quarterly basis to keep shareholders informed on the company progress
• Implement, improve on or negotiate suggestions/ ideas from the board of Directors in terms of how to improve the company
• Manage other focus areas within operations incl:
o the quality of goods and services,
o the quantity of goods and services
o the stock levels of materials (inventory raw, WIP & Finished)
• Managing the purchasing of raw materials required by the customer and ensure the raw materials are purchased at the most economical cost, bearing in mind the required quality of the product inclusive of maintaining levels of critical stock at pre determined levels and managing purchase variances
• Maintain lists of approved Suppliers
• Audit suppliers to determine ability to meet customer requirements
• Budget and control costs
• Ensure prices on Syspro Inventory Systems are maintained
• Address all claims of rejected stock with suppliers and maintain an updated claims register
• Resolve all customer suppler queries in terms of poor quality or performance of raw materials
• Identify, assess and manage business and operational risks within respective areas of concern
• Identify, assess and develop a control strategy to manage identified risks to ensure the achievability of the subsidiary's objectives
• Identify and monitor key risk indicators pertaining to key risks within the respective are of concern
• Monitor and review the management of risks within respective area of concern inclusive of ensuring risk tolerance limits are applied in order to ensure key risks do not exceed the risk appetite

Qualification:
• Matric
• Tertiary qualification in Business Management or similar

Experience:
• 3 - 5 years management experience in similar position
• A strong understanding and experience in staff management including unions
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of Syspro, ISO & Labour Law
• A strong understanding and working knowledge of Cost and management accounting related to a manufacturing environment
• A strong understanding and working knowledge or process flow, policies, procedures & legislative requirements in a manufacturing environment
