Chief Financial Officer/Rosebank, Johannesburg
• Responsible for all internal and external financial and management reporting of the company
• Ensure adherence to internal group reporting standards together with local and international regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Drive financial and business planning and provide meaningful financial analysis to ensure profitable growth and delivering on its targets.

Contribute to the strategy and goals as stated in the balanced scorecard and bear overall responsibility for:
• Technical accounting and credit control for both life and non-life business
• Financial accounting, including bank & cash, accounts payable, receipts and payments, fixed assets
• Corporate actuarial: life and non-life reserving
• Local financial and management reporting
• Regulatory reporting to the Financial Services Board and SARB
• Direct and indirect tax management and accounting
• Investment accounting & administration
• Capital management and reporting
• Support business management and development by providing analysis and transparency on technical profit/loss drivers (profitability analysis) as well as management expenses
• Ensure that effective internal controls are in place
• Support the Reinsurance CFO and Head Office functions by delivering financial information
• Provide leadership and management to the team
• Establish and maintain relationships with senior management (across the region), external auditor, tax advisor and banks.
• Cultivate good working relationships with external audtiors and regulators to build trust and confidence
• Keep abreast of ongoing changes in financial reporting standards and ensure the business understands the impact of a changing regulatory landscape (SAM, Solvency II)
• Contribute to the RI CFO international organisation strategy and development

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

• Qualified CA or Actuary preferred
• Extensive relevant experience (10 years) in financial services organisations
• Reinsurance industry financial experience is preferable
• Life Actuarial experience would be beneficial
• Ability to demonstrate successful management of the annual financial cycle in a senior financial management role within the financial services industry
