Our client is searching for a Chief Technical Officer (CTO). The successful candidate would be required to make executive decisions on behalf of the Groups technological requirements whilst maintaining a consumer-focused outlook and aiding the delivering of ICT and Solar Power Projects to Market.
The successful candidate would have a proven track record with the ICT and Solar Power industries and a demonstrated history with technology OEM engagement.

Key Performance Areas:
Develop the technical strategy for the Group as per the respective Operational Companys
Identify and select the most appropriate Technology, Solutions and Suppliers to address current and future requirements.
Innovative technology and solutions to meet customer and Operational Companys needs
Engage with customers, Operational Companys and sales to propose and implement the most effective technology and solutions.
Employ train and develop a Product Team to support all stakeholders
Effective management of the Department, providing direction and guidance, monitor and evaluate.
Providing the sales team (internal/external) with the necessary technical expertise to enable sales and sales processing
Oversee product non-conformances and taking the appropriate action where required
Ensure Suppliers Compliance to In country Rules and Regulations, Good Corporate Governance, ISO standards – Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental
Review product forecasts, and constantly monitoring inventory levels held at warehouses including liaison with production (locally and globally) to ensure supply timelines.
Providing specialist support, guidance, monitoring and evaluation of Installations and Maintenance Services
Review of system stock levels
Provide product awareness training sessions
Building relationships with all stakeholders
Oversee product non-conformances and taking the appropriate action where required
Monitoring and Evaluation of Suppliers
Ensure Local Suppliers Compliance to BBBEE legislation & Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
Assist with marketing and branding material for products.
Co-ordination of sales and market approach, provide sales strategy inputs
Evaluation of price competitiveness
Continuous analysis of the market segment and drive business development
Identifying new opportunities, strategy development, evaluation and review
Ensure the profitable sales of the product and the management of the life cycle thereof
Communicating new products and product changes
Provide and generate information for successful Tender/ Bids/ RFQs/ RFIs/ RFPs and Vendor Applications
Monitoring and Evaluation of Suppliers contractual obligations including Quality, lead-times, EOL, DOA etc
Ensure that Supplier/Client Contracts are updated
Oversee matters around non-conformance in a timely manner
Adhere to all company policies, procedures, regulatory standards and statutory requirements

Requirements:
Degree in related field
MBA preferred
Advanced and diverse technological skill set within the Telecoms-Active/Passive, Energy, Production and Manufacturing and a demonstrated history with technology OEM engagement
Extensive ICT and Solar Power knowledge with focus on current and future trends and opportunities
8 years working in a technological role, ICT, Solar Power, OEM engagement
5 years managerial experience
Solid track record of Global experience, working with OEMS
Sound knowledge and understanding of the principles of product life cycle, financial structures, accounting procedures and purchasing processes
Long working hours
Required to attend meetings, functions/events
National and International travel required
Office environment
Code 8 drivers licence and own reliable vehicle
Valid Passport
