Job description:

The key objective of the Western Claims Manager will be to manage the day to day claims operations for the Conventional Business. Service delivery, cost containment, system enhancement and development will be critical outputs. The current and expected growth envisaged by Western requires daily management on the floor in order to assist Western with key objectives being exceptional service levels and reduction in average cost of claim.

Responsibilities:

(Commercial Lines, Motor and Non-motor)

• Ensure service levels is adhered to within the broker environment
• Measure and monitor daily efficiencies and productivity
• Daily management of workflow system and claim volumes
• Workforce management
• Implement cost saving initiatives
• Approval of claims over a certain mandate
• Quality assessments (audit claims)
• Ensure risk controls are embedded within the day to day operations
• Execution of procurement initiatives
• Identify needs and assist and train staff in execution of daily work
• Identify system improvement and development needs
• Manage relationships (internal and external clients)
• Lead by example


Minimum Requirements:

• Matric
• Full qualification (Commercial Lines): NQF 4 150 credits (Short-term Insurance)
• RE 5 successfully completed
• A minimum of seven (7) years’ claims handling experience (both commercial & personal lines)
• Minimum of four (4) years’ management experience
• Tial system experience will be an advantage
• Must have demonstrable experience in the planning and implementation of business processes and system management
• DOFA confirmation from FSB
