Internship overview

Media relations
Liaise on a daily basis with the media, often via telephone and email.
Build and maintain personal relations with all the media.
Compile targeted media distribution lists and distribute press releases, byline articles and case studies to print, online and broadcast media.
Keep track of upcoming features, supplements and advertorial opportunities.
Consistently research and add information to the media contacts database.
Client relations
Attend client meetings and keep notes of decisions and actions.
Update Basecamp directly after meetings and assign to-do’s, as well as deadlines.
Compile agendas for meetings with the assistance of AM.
Media monitoring
Use the preferred media monitoring services of RR to compile weekly publicity reports.
Do a weekly manual Google search to ensure that publicity is not missed.
Inform AM of missing coverage.
Team
Work as part of the account team to implement all of the PR activities.
Industry relations
Attend industry events to gain insight/experience, network and promote RR.
Assist with compiling entries for PR awards.
Build and maintain supplier relations and identify new credible suppliers.
Agency business
Assist with research to develop client proposals.
General
Monitor media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires, and blogs for publicity opportunities.
Assist with event management and other projects.
Coordinate media training and media photographs.
Advantageous requirements: Drivers license

Anticipated start date: 15 January 2020

Important To Note: We are based in Moorreesburg, one hour drive from Cape Town. The candidate will have to relocate.
