Our client, in the agricultural industry, requires the service of a Communication Specialist who will be responsible for ensuring the effective transfer and implementation of research outputs and technology in order to improve the company’s international competitiveness.

Key performance areas:

? Translate research outputs into a format that appeals to the growers and technical people (different target audiences)
? Stay up-to-date with latest communications/social media trends.
? Produce integrated information in print and electronic formats, such as the annual report, newsletters and infographics.
? Develop credibility with key participants, growers and technical people in the industry

The successful candidate must have:

? Matric with a Degree in Communications/Visual Media
? A Post Graduate Degree in Journalism / Communications with a Life Science/Visual Communications undergraduate degree will be preferable
? At least 1 - 3 years appropriate experience in a communications role within a corporate or industry environment
? Experience in communications of science will be advantageous
? Proven interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills
? Must have a desire and ability to write effectively.
? Must have multi-media experience, including basic video editing skills, graphic design skills, and photography.
? Excellent organisational abilities and an ability to simultaneously coordinate multiple issues.
? People skills and personal drive to get the job done.
