SOS NATIONAL OFFICE: CORPORATE FUNDRAISER

SOS Children’s Villages is a social development organisation, focussing on the care, protection and development of children and youth who are orphaned or vulnerable. Our mission is to build families for children in need, help them to shape their own futures and share in the development of their communities.

We are in the process of recruiting a Corporate Fundraiser, to be based at our National Office in Woodmead, JHB.

Functional Area: Fund Development
Job title of Direct Supervisor: Corporate Fundraiser Team Leader
Main Clients:
• Big corporate enterprises: national or multinational companies
• Small and medium corporate enterprises
• FR team colleagues for individual & corporate fundraising and communications
• Programme Development at national and location
• Finance colleagues
• Regional FDC team

THE CORPORATE FUNDRAISER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
• Development, Management and Delivery of the Corporate Fundraising Strategy
• Fundraise for the Organisation and meet financial targets
• Management of Projects related to Corporate Fundraising
• Management of own financial and provisions of input into departmental budget
• Strategic Relationship Management
• Grow SOS business and client base
THE CORPORATE FUNDRAISER WILL BE EXPECTED TO:
• Do Proposals and write own reports
• Meet targets
• Know and identify with the vision, mission and values of SOS Children’s Villages
• Be flexible in working hours and be willing to travel within dedicated area of work
• Coordinate and take part in events related to area of work
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Tertiary qualification in field of international business development / marketing, sales / business administration / business management / public relations or communications.
• 3-5 years verified experience and results in the field of marketing, fundraising or sales at international NGOs or at multinational companies
• A Higher Degree in a related field
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Proposal and report-writing
• Good relationship-building and interpersonal skills
• Positive working attitude and ability to work under pressure
• Highly organised, result-oriented, proactive and reliable
• Innovative and creative, claiming and demonstrating high professional standards
• Good team player
• Strategic and analytical thinking abilities

The successful incumbent must be a highly motivated and organised individual, able to work independently, use initiative and keep commitments. Willingness to travel frequently.
