A firm specializing in business finance and advisory services is seeking a Credit Analyst to join their firm based in Sandton.

Intensive credit analysis includes: Analyse and interpret annual financial statements, management accounts and bank statements + Analyse and monitor credit risk exposures, assessing compliance with investment guidelines and internal controls + Review substantial amounts of documentation and extract, analyse and mitigate key issues + Determine the main drivers and risk factors relevant to the borrowing company and formulate an informed view of the likelihood vs. the Potential impact on the business + A thorough comprehension of structuring and contractual arrangements as part of the transactions and its impact on firm's relative position + Prepare or motivate and / or present well considered credit applications to the relevant sanctioning authorities + Negotiate and participate in the deal making process in conjunction with the firm's business units with regards to deal structures and loan terms, conditions and covenants + Play a consultation role to the business units in terms of deal structuring and compiling facility letters and to find effective solutions to problems + Participate in and manage from a credit point of view the deal closure process + Manage the transaction after deal closure to ensure compliance to terms, conditions and covenants and take corrective action where breaches occur or where a negative trend emerges + Build effective networks and close partnership relationships across.

A good understanding of financial services or banking in the credit environment + A good working knowledge of accounting, economics, commercial law, business valuations and cash flow analysis + Good understanding of the legal and statutory aspects of companies, partnerships, trusts and of legal agreements + Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word
