Sovereign Foods, a national supplier of top quality locally produced chicken products to the SA market via various brands, is seeking to employ a Credit Controller for its operations in Uitenhage.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and skilled candidates for this position at the Finance Division. The incumbent of this position is responsible for controlling and managing customer accounts within the credit policy of the company through collections, resolving queries and building good customer relations.

A minimum of a 3-year Diploma in Accounting or a similar post-matric qualification in the financial environment, 3 to 5 year’s Credit Control experience, good computer literacy and Excel at an intermediate level is required. Experience in working with Syspro will be beneficial.

Results Required:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve the following results:

• Build & maintain excellent customer relationships
• Collection of Book Debt within the agreed Trading and Credit Terms, per customer
• Conduct daily processing of approved claims and credits, discounts, rebates and journals
• Conduct accurate, daily allocation of payments and discounts
• Process new customer applications
• Maintain account information (master data)
• Drive query and dispute resolution with Customers, Sales- & Warehouse teams
• Manage age analysis to within agreed terms
• Process customer-related documentation
• Reporting, as directed
• Prepare & distribute collection forecast
• Compliance with applicable legislation and internal procedures
