Dairy Farm General Manager – (Ethiopia)

Our client, a leading Food and Beverages Group, is currently embarking on a period of significant growth – and they are seeking an experienced General Dairy Farm Manager / Managing Director - Dairy / Senior Dairy Farm Manager.

Reporting the Board at Group level, you will be responsible for overall management of the dairy farm operations (including growth strategies and increasing operational efficiencies), herd management (including herd health and breeding) and up general upkeep of facilities.

You will meet the following key requirements
• BSc Degree in Veterinary science
• Additional certifications/courses/qualifications in dairy science and business
• MBA would be an advantage
• Proven ability to drive amazing customer experiences - and results - through team development.
• Experience with diplomatically managing multiple commitments to customers, staff, and operations.
• Must have practical experience managing a dairy farm (minimum 5 years)


Additional Requirements
• At least 15 years’ experience in dairy farm activities out of which 5 years as Dairy Farm Manager.
• Knowledge of cow physiology, life cycle, and factors affecting health and milk production.
• Understanding of and ability to work with modern milking equipment and automated feeding system.
• Ability to organize and maintain herd health and breeding records.
• Minimum experience of managing 1000 herd size is highly preferred.
• Strong leadership skills with hands-on capability and management style.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Leadership and motivational skills
• Be commercially aware and possess in depth experience of working towards KPIs
• Ability to plan, prioritise and cope under pressure
