Our client an established and dynamic software development company seeks to appoint a talented Data Scientist to join their data team to design data modeling processes, create algorithms and predictive models to extract the data the business needs, and help analyze and interpret such data. Utilise your skills in technology and social science to find trends and manage data.

Requirements:
• Degree in Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Geography, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years experience in a Data Scientist or Analyst role.
• Proficiency with database programming languages such as SQL, R or Python.
• Proficiency with front end design languages such as and various mapping languages. HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Experience with mapping tools such as QGIS and Esri software.
• Experience with analytical tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Outstanding quantitative skill set.
• Attention to detail and good problem-solving skills.
• Analytical mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Teamwork skills

Responsibilities
• Collaborate with technology teams and management.
• Data mining or extracting usable data from data sources.
• Using tools to select features, create and optimize classifiers.
• Carrying out preprocessing of structured and unstructured data.
• Enhancing data collection procedures to include all relevant information for developing analytic systems.
• Processing, cleansing, and validating the integrity of data to be used for analysis.
• Analyzing large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions.
• Developing prediction systems and machine learning algorithms.
• Presenting results in a clear manner.
• Propose solutions and strategies to tackle business objectives.
