Job Description
Our client a Manufacturing Company with their Head Office situated in Midrand is looking for a Debtors Clerk with Manufacturing experience.
Purpose of the position :
The Debtors Clerk ensures that customer accounts are reconciled, maximum amounts collected, debtors are balanced regularly and on time, whilst maintaining a sound relationship between company and customer.
Duties and Responsibilities :
• Creates and maintains an effective and updated filing system for debtor documentation.
• Files all documentation weekly to ensure efficient retrieval and a tidy workstation.
• Creates and maintains Customer master information, which includes credit checks and capturing onto System.
• Captures customer receipts by collecting bank statements, obtaining remittance advices and capturing correctly onto System.
• Reconciles debtor payments to bank receipts.
• Prepares monthly customer statements, by generating and sending statements to customers.
• Regularly communicates with customers to facilitate collection of monies due.
• Reconcile debtor payments to bank receipts.
• Controls unallocated and cash in transit receipts.
• Produces monthly 90 days-overdue debtors report with explanations
• Attends to and ensures that all problems / queries are resolved timeously.
• Prepares monthly debtor reconciliations and prompt clearing of reconciling items.
• Does monthly reconciliation of accounts receivable trial balance to general ledger control accounts.
• Ensures resolution of reconciling items before closing sub ledger.
• Follows up on all outstanding payments.
Relevant Qualification :
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce advantageous.
Min 3 years working experience in Manufacturing and / or Similar environment
