MAIN PURPOSE
The Department Manager is accountable for assisting the Regional Manager in maximising department/store profitability and ensuring our client's brand values are maintained.

KEY OUTCOMES
1. Customer Service
? Work with the Regional Manager to lead the store team to achieve high levels of customer service in order to build customer loyalty, generate repeat business and maximise all sales opportunities
? This is achieved by ensuring adherence to the company's Customer Service Standards, educating teams on product knowledge and focusing on building the Client database
2. Manage store sales and expenses to maximise profit
? Utilise reports to monitor and manage sales, stock inventory, shrinkage and expenses
? Ensure team members are aware of and achieve sales budgets
? Manage expenses in line with store benchmark / budget
3. Drive sale and stock management in line with the Department's standards
? Ensure that the sales floor is fully stocked and the full size curve is available
? Drive stock availability through influencing and managing over and under stock scenarios
? Ensure stock transfers and deliveries are accurate and report discrepancies
? Manage stock inventory through accurate stock movement
4. Manage shrinkage and risks through the adherence and implementation of company policies, processes and procedures
? Achieve data integrity through accurate stock management processes
? Drive shrinkage awareness with team members in accordance to stores shrinkage action plan
? Ensure effective implementation through red flag processes, formulate action plans, implement and follow up
? Ensure compliance to internal controls
? Ensure compliance to POPI Act
5. Visual Merchandising
? Ensure visual merchandising, display are in line with the store and the company's profile.
? Work with the VM team to ensure that merchandising is well planned and implemented according to the VM Standards manual
? Optismise floor layout and the proportionality of stock and space in order to maximum sales return
? Drive the packing process within the department
6. Lead, develop and retain staff
? Manage the end-to-end People processes (attract, develop, retain)
? Drive and manage the Integrated Performance Management processes
? Develop and coach the team
? Ensure consistent engagement with the team, i.e weekly check-ins and team meetings
JOB REQUIREMENTS
? Preferably Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level
? Available and flexible to work different shifts
? Driver's licence
ADDITIONAL CRITERIA
? Relevant retail / management experience in the Retail/FMCG industry advantageous
? Technological proficient
