Our client, who is a fish processing company and who imports and exports seafood products from and to various countries worldwide, wants to appoint a Departmental Production Manager. The successful candidate will report to the Factory and/or General Manager and will be responsible to manage the effective running of the department by achieving set targets without compromising of Food Safety or Quality.
Key responsibilities: Assist in planning production for the week; Communication with all relevant staff in department; Assist in the forecasting of stock (ingredients, packaging, labelling) to meet departments production needs; Recipe/Product make-up to be supervised; Supervise where changeovers take place to ensure that sufficient cleaning takes place and line set up complies; Assisting in training of staff on product specifications; and Responsible for caring out trial production runs to assist in the verification of new products.
Qualifications: Matric and Qualification in Food/Production/Operations.
Experience: 2 – 3 Years’ FMCG experience and Seafood Industry experience will be an added advantage.
