JOB DESCRIPTION: Maintain and inspect equipment according to OEM, Mine Health and Safety Act and prescribed performance
requirements.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Attend to machinery breakdowns
? Detect and diagnose faults in machines and parts
? Diagnose and test parts with the assistance of computers
? Dismantle and remove machine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and check parts
? Inspect components and equipment for defects and report deviations
? Perform planned maintenance, inspections and relevant tests on equipment
? Perform risk assessments (Activity based and Mini)
? Responsible for trade related administration
? Assemble machine components and fit parts after being repaired
? Responsible for performing lock outs
? Conduct on-the-job training for allocated apprentices
? Service machinery for optimal availability and performance
? To perform workshop work as required within required quality standards and standard times allocated for jobs.
? Repairing, inspecting and commissioning service, considering economical and other aspects
? Must be able to work shifts, overtime and be able to do standby, callouts
? Required to perform other duties that may reasonably be expected within the Company from time to time.
? Ensure compliance to Statutory requirements and Mine Policies, Procedures and Codes of Practice

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
? Grade 10
? N2 National Certificate
? Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate through a recognised institution and/or apprenticeship**
? 3 years post Apprenticeship/Qualification experience
? Valid Drivers’ License
Advantageous (Skills, Competencies, Experience & Qualifications)
? Grade 12/N3
? Computer Literate
