Sovereign Foods is looking for a thorough and committed individual to take up the role of Divisional Financial Manager, reporting to the Senior Financial Manager. This position carries the grade of T14. The successful incumbent will be a focussed, pro-active and results orientated individual that will manage and oversee the financial activities of the Agriculture Division through driving down costs, highlighting variances to standard as well as identifying potential areas of improvement across the Eastern Cape Agriculture division.

The ideal candidate will be in possession of a BCom qualification, plus CIMA, ACCA or equivalent registration. 7 Years’ experience in financial management, budget processes and cost control at a senior level, including experience in managing a team, is required.

Results Required
The successful candidate must be able to achieve the following results:
• Monitoring expenses against budget and highlight over expenditure;
• Communicate costs by farm per cycle to farm/area managers in monthly one-on-one meetings;
• Consolidate costs in conjunction with the responsible financial persons from the various Agriculture departments;
• Produce monthly consolidated accounts by the third working day of each month and send out cost report, highlighting items over budget to the responsible persons in order to address. Propose corrective measures for re-alignment of annual costs;
• Manage and coordinate monthly stock takes, ultimately achieving zero variance on every stocktake;
• Drive the focus of specific task team members, ensuring the ultimate achievement of goals and objectives;
• Continuously review Agri finance SOP’s to ensure they are up to date and all staff understand and adhere to them. Make recommendations on opportunities for improved efficiencies.
