We are seeking a skilled and experienced drafter an engineering technician who makes detailed technical drawings or plans for machinery, buildings, electronics, infrastructure, sections, etc. Drafters use computer software and manual sketches to convert the designs, plans, and layouts of engineers and architects into a set of technical drawings.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in optimizing our mineral process design and engineering, ensuring efficiency, safety, and high-quality output.

Duties & Responsibilities
Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical, structural and process equipment, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD)
Preferred experience within the mining industry, including conveyors, screens, crushers and process plants.
Software. Autodesk Inventor / Solid works
Coordinate with and consult other workers to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and to resolve design or other problems.
Review and analyse specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related data to assess.
Produce fabrication and shop drawings, as well as bill of materials and item lists.
Modify and revise designs to correct operating deficiencies and to improve on existing designs thorough optimization.
Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the materials.
Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.
3D model new mechanical, structural, civil, and piping models.
Draw up general arrangement plant layouts for tender purposes.
Basic understanding of ISO 9001 (Quality). Correct archiving of drawings, revisions, naming, transmitting etc.
communicate directly with engineers and clients regarding designs and changes.
Perform quality inspections on fabricated goods, including site visits to confirm items are build and assembled according to drawings.

Qualifications

Mining Exp essential
Diploma or Associate's Degree in Drafting / Higher Certificate in Architectural Technology NQF5 /Foundation Programme (Architecture & Drafting)
Detailed technical drawings or plans for machinery, buildings, electronics, infrastructure, sections
Technology exp -Creating 2D/3D
Familiarity with process control
Excellent written and oral skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Package & Remuneration
Salary:: R25K – R45K (Depending on experience)
Contract Period – PERM
