Driver Supervisor

Location: Observatory, Cape Town
Salary: R7000 – R8500 per month negotiable

Requirements:
Able to speak Afrikaans and English
Must hold a valid SA drivers’ license
Must be literate and able to process information (e.g. pallet information, codes etc.)
Any fruit background/experience would be advantageous
Be punctual
Must be a good communicator with good people skills
Be able to work early and late hours or sometimes over weekends when there are loadings.

Duties:
Oversee container loadings – use loadout sheet to ensure correct pallets are loaded and take down all relevant information (container number, temptale number, seal number etc.)
Occasional visits to packhouses, depots, farms to inspect fruit and ensure quality standards.
To quickly inform the logistics team about any change of information there might be from the depot or transporter.
Oversee a team of people (approx. 4 people) when there are off-pack containers for the day – to ensure the team is on time, that they handle the fruit cartons correctly and manage their transport to and from the depot.
There will also be Ad Hoc duties during the week – e.g. collecting packages, pick-up of people etc.
