Sovereign Foods, a national supplier of top quality locally produced chicken products to the SA market via various brands, is seeking to employ an Electrical Specialist for its operations in Uitenhage.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and skilled candidates for this position. The Electrical Specialist is responsible for all electrical aspects of capital projects, including cost Management, design and timeous delivery and the preventative maintenance standards and roadmap for electrical engineering activities within the business. A degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 10 years’ electrical engineering experience in a poultry integrator environment, including the abattoir and processing fields, is required. Excellent working knowledge and understanding is required in all electrical fields, high voltage, industrial and automation. The incumbent will be required to travel for extended periods of time.

Results Required:

• Form part of the consultation, review, implementation and design team for capital projects
• Responsible for cost and accounting management on assigned electrical aspects
• Manage electrical preventative maintenance roadmap
• Compile company standards and best practices in electrical engineering field
• Develop electrical, process control and automation hardware, processing machinery and interfaces to ensure maximum plant efficiency and
throughput for production facilities
• Support production facilities to resolve issues
• Offer production technical guidance
• Guide engineers/artisans and ensure knowledge sharing
• Evaluate new technologies and apply them in operations
