Applications are invited from suitably qualified and skilled candidates for this position at the Hatcheries, as part of the Gauteng operations. The Electrician will be responsible for ongoing, planned and preventative maintenance, according to standard Hatchery operating procedures.
An Electrical artisan qualification (Trade Test) is required, as well as 2 years' maintenance experience in a production environment, with confidence in electronic hardware and computer electrical interface knowledge. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Results Required:
• Maintain hatchery equipment maintained to
original equipment manufacturers specs;
• Comply to service interval requirements of each
individual machine types;
• Address maintenance issues according to
incubation risk;
• Ensure that allocated job cards are timeously
attended to;
• Ensure site housekeeping as per BRC factors;
• Initiate emergency procedures when equipment
issues occur;
• Identify and report on Risk related issues;
• Ensure that all spares and stock of spares are
kept and recorded;
• Daily incubation machine checks;
• Ensure that incubation process is not
compromised during Maintenance break down
periods
Critical Skills and Competencies:
• Knowledge of electronics and PLC controls
• Understanding heating/cooling principles
• General Maintenance skills –welding, fitting,
plumbing etc
• Basic Computer literate in Excel and Word
• Computer literate
• Must have a passion for high standards
