Sovereign Foods is seeking to employ 2 suitably qualified and skilled candidates on a fixed-term contract as an Electrician at the Agriculture Division, based at the Uitenhage operations. The temporary electricians will be responsible for project work on electrical panels for a new plant installation. This is a 2-month assignment.
An electrical trade test qualification is required with at least 2 year's electrical experience. The position will report to the Feedmill Technician.

Results Required
• Plan spacing of electrical equipment on panel backplanes using schematics
• Prepare backplanes and install equipment
• Wire and cable equipment on backplanes using schematics
• Test and install panels
• Connect controls to PLC’s and main circuit to panel mains
• Install electrical equipment in the plant, including junction boxes
• Determine cable routes and install cableways
• Pull in, make off and connect control cables
• Pull in, make off and connect supply cables
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legal requirements in work area and workshop

Critical Competencies and Skills
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and wire panels accordingly
• Ability to wire and cable panels neatly
• Ability to determine cable routes and pull in cables
• Able to work without direct supervision
• Good communication skills
• Fault finding skills
• Attention to detail
