The Engineering Director will be based at the global manufacturing site in Boksburg and will report to the Manufacturing Director. They are responsible for managing plant maintenance, engineering, projects and health & safety.

The successful candidate will have experience managing diverse teams with varying capabilities in a fastpaced, technical production environment. This is a “hands-on” role; the Engineering Director will spend the majority of her/his time in the factory.

Specifically, the Engineering Director will be required to:

• Lead the maintenance, engineering and project teams.
• Identify and mitigate risks across all spheres of manufacturing, including occupational health &
safety and quality.
• Develop and implement a planned maintenance schedule.
• Maintain ISO standards and OHS requirements.
• Identify and lead capability/skills development within the facility.
• Support in the industrialization of new product development.
• Identify and lead initiatives to drive continuous improvement across the facility.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors of Engineering degree from a leading university; at least 10 years experience in a technical management role in a FMCG environment; exceptional organisational & leadership skills; a keen eye for detail and an action-orientated collaborative style will be important attributes to succeed in this dynamic team environment. Experience in large scale manufacturing, bottle printing/decorating and/or the plastics industry is highly advantageous.
