Engineering Manager (Mechanical), East Rand
Our client currently has an opportunity for an Engineering Manager. The successful incumbent will hold a mechanical engineering qualification together with 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
Position details:
Reports to: General Manager
Develop and implement critical operating guidelines and procedures.
Be responsible for the overall performance of the engineering division (from a financial, operations and strategy to human resources) whilst seeking and maintaining continual improvements in South Africa and any other region in Africa in which the board directs the employee to go to.
Endeavour to fulfil all the KPI within a period of a year from the date they are given to the employee from time to time.
With the help of the General Manager and/or the Chief Executive Office (as applicable), identify other opportunities to complement the business of the company.
Be responsible for developing monthly routines to monitor projects and communicate results to the executive management team.
Develop and manage standard work processes.
Lead and develop KPIs.
Develop a culture of continuous improvement.
Be responsible for overseeing the resolution of all customer complaints to the satisfaction of the customer and in the best interest of the company.
Participate in annual and strategic budget and planning processes and business development opportunities.
Build and manage a high performing team through strong hiring practices, training and development.
Teaching, training and direct mentoring of team members in the company management philosophies, techniques, leadership in the company as well as routine policies and procedures.
Participate in visits with local managers as necessary to support our strategy.
Participation in management meetings to review status of the business and progress against key initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.
Oversee the research and development of new products and procedures.
Develop cost estimates.
