Grade 12 OR N3 technical qualification
Recognised Engineering Trade Test Certificate ** - plus a minimum 5 years post Trade certificate experience in the mining, construction or engineering environment
OR- then must have at least a Minimum of 7 working years’ un-broken/continuous experience as a Planner Clerk in the relevant planning section (e.g. plant planner clerk for plant engineering maintenance planner) as well as technical knowledge on the relevant assets and components
Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Course
Advanced Microsoft Projects experience essential
Experience or certificate in Computerized Maintenance Management System (On-Key)
Leadership Development Programme – an advantage
Computer Literacy and Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate) essential
Valid Drivers’ License essential
Co-ordinate the construction or maintenance of production, projects or mobile/fixed plant equipment and machinery according to the planned schedule.
Continuously monitor trends and critical paths in construction, production and equipment compliance or failure and advise the Section Manager, Section Engineer and Engineering Foremen accordingly to ensure continuous improvement
Co-ordinate the planning / scheduling management system
Determine schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel
Ensure effective cost saving initiatives
Examine production, construction or equipment and analyse information to determine needed adjustments, modifications, services or repairs
Identify and complete inventory list of production, construction or maintenance related equipment
Maintain records of production, construction or maintenance and component replacement or repairs
Oversee the lifespan of the machinery and equipment
Perform failure analysis on main line equipment
Prepare detailed specifications for the work to be carried out at the scheduled intervals
Prepare schedules for maintenance of equipment according to technical specifications and organisational standards
Receive information on modifications, maintenance or repair work carried out on equipment, outside of the schedule of maintenance
Record, analyse, verify data and write reports
Able to communicate in English (written & verbal)
