GROUP ENGINEERING & PROJECT MANAGER- MUST COME FROM AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY

1. Overall responsibility for ensuring that the objectives of the Engineering Department are achieved
• Projects: Responsible for achieving successful launch of new project(s) awarded to the plant by achieving project milestones and
customer satisfaction measured by customer APQP.
• Ensuring all activities are aimed at achieving customer satisfaction whilst acting in the best interest of the company
• Must be able to plan, lead, organize & control all personnel under his control
2: Main Duties:
• Project Management: Responsible for complete project management of the company, from providing initial data to commercials department
in order to quote, through to timing plan compilation, tracking execution of the timing plan, ensuring customer project milestones are met
and start of supply is not compromised.
• Project Launchings: Responsible for ensuring effective and efficient project launch of any new projects that have been awarded to the
company.
• Method Improvement: Responsible for achieving annual method improvement target set by headquarters and General Manager of the
company at each facility of the company. Responsible for tracking and reporting this point via action plan and record of savings achieved.
• Bill of material improvement: Responsible for achieving annual method improvement target set by headquarters and General Manager of
the company at each facility of the company. Responsible for tracking and reporting this point via action plan and record of savings
achieved.
• Customer Satisfaction: Responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction is maintained during project launch phases as reported in company
APQP reporting package. Further responsible for ensuring that customer requirements from engineering department are met as audited on
a regular basis by customers.
• Continuous Improvement – Responsible for ensuring Engineering department comply with the company SP, 5S, Kamishibai, Red Table &
Black Table continuous improvement objectives as defined by headquarters and that where required these are effectively and efficiently
implemented and maintained on a weekly basis within the plant. Any open points are monitored by means of action plan and closed as
soon as possible.
• Project Economic KPI’s: Responsible for achievement of the project economic KPI’s, project profit and ensuring development costs are not
exceeded.
ESSENTIAL
• Matric
• Certified Education in Engineering
• Computer Literate (Excel, MS Word)
• Knowledge of and experience in Syspro 6.0
• Must have at least 10 years experience in Engineering and Project Management FROM AUTOMOTIVE
