ENROLLED NURSE – PAEDIATRIC & MEDICAL WARD

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Deliver comprehensive and quality patient care in collaboration with the multi - disciplinary team to meet the health needs of patients in Paediatric Ward.
• Must be able to work efficiently under pressure
• Must be able to work with children and parents
• Executes procedures according to the hospital’s standards and legal requirements
• Must be willing to work shifts in accordance with the requirements of the unit.
• Identifies, prevents and reports medico – legal risks to ensure patient safety
• Must have basic knowledge of stock control principles
• Carry out all related duties ward duties as assigned by the Unit Manager/ shift Leader
• Refer any queries to the Unit Manager/ Shift Leader
• Maintain a safe working environment as per hospital protocols and standards
• Maintain accurate record keeping

REQUIREMENTS:
• Registered with the South African Nursing Council as an Enrolled Nurse.
• Minimum of two - three years’ experience in a Medical / Surgical nursing care is essential.
• Compliance with SANC scope of practise of an Enrolled Nurse and all applicable Health Care Legislation
• Competent in the demonstration and assessment of all clinical procedure
• Adaptable and able to work effectively within a team
• Adheres to patient rights at all times
• Maintains a customer- focused mindset that acknowledges the value of the customer
• Ensures a therapeutic and safe patient environment by maintaining health and safety standards and complying with infection prevention and control policy. Quality client care principles maintained.
