In the beginning 6 domaines were imported regularly and now their portfolio has grown to 37 domaines – their portfolio stretches across 116 producers in recent years, They have added to their portfolio by representing a niche selection of the very best names that South Africa has to offer.
Job overview:
The event planner and coordinator will be responsible for the marketing and full management of events for fine wine. Tasting events range from private and trade tasting to themed annual events and producer visit.

This role encompasses the entire event management process from planning to post-event evaluation and report back.

Duties and responsibilities:
Establish event tasting requirements as determined by the sales team and the clients requirements including annual events and producers’ visits
With assistance of the marketing manager, produce and manage a detailed calendar for events (including timelines, venues, budgets)
Research venues, suppliers and arrange quotes for detailed event costing
Manage and coordinate all event logistics pre and post event
Management of all POS material linked to events
Liaise with sales and marketing teams to publicize and promote the event
Handle all pre-event tasks, such as brand theme, invitations, RSVP’s, guests list, event reminders, gifting, tasting books/sheets, order forms and event table and room layouts
When necessary, present the tasting
Manage the event to ensure all runs smoothly, liaise with customers, build the clients brand
With the team’s assistance, all set up and clean-up of events
Manage budgets and costs and provide full report back after each event including post-event evaluation with customer feedback statistics
Build wine related event management and hosting as a service offered by the client or corporate and / or private groups

Education and experience needed:
2+ years of employment experience as an event coordinator or planner
Post-secondary education such as a degree in business, communications, public relations, marketing or hospitality
Experience with budgets
A proven track record or aptitude for customer service
Knowledge and wine qualification would be preferable
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Knowledge of SAP - Business by Design an advantage
Experience with presenting preferable
