HEAD CHEF - Boutique Hotel, Houghton, Johannesburg

Pick Me Recruitment is looking for an Experienced and Innovative Head Chef to manage and run the overall kitchen operations of a luxurious Boutique Hotel and Performance Art Theatre. This luxurious boutique hotel on two and a half acres of lush gardens in Houghton, Johannesburg dates back to the 1920’s and is a haven of tranquillity and old-world charm close to the business districts of Sandton, Rosebank and the Johannesburg CBD.
The property offers 12 individually styled, rooms and suites, 6 separate dining rooms and a rustic garden where breakfast, lunch and dinners are served.

The verdant grounds include a cosy performance Art Theatre that is able to host over 100 guests and various conference facilities that is able to host up to 100 delegates.
The perfect candidate is someone with exceptional culinary skills, experience in running and managing local or international top-end restaurants, a hands-on approach to food development and production, strong operational and communication skills, is resourceful, creative and up to date with current culinary trends, experience in recipe development and testing.

Minimum Requirements & Key Responsibilities:

• A formal culinary education
• Matric
• Previous experience as an Executive Chef at a top-end local or international restaurant
• French Cuisine experience
• Valid driver’s license and own reliable transport
• Excellent control of food cost, wastage and kitchen preparation
• Supplier liaison and inventory control
• Ongoing staff training and development
• Ensure all OHASA and Covid-19 regulations are met
