Liaise and deal with product issues, i.e. quality and stock constraints, with Sites
Liaise and deal with logistical issues (Ports, Transporters, Shipping lines, Rail, etc.)
Liaise with plants or mines to check availability of material
Book suitable vessels for customer orders (container ships)
Maintain Departmental IMS requirements
Maintain Customer Complaint registers
Manager MES Issues report ensuring zero tolerance
Assist in the preparation of budgets, costing and/or any other shipping related reporting
Control costs in area of responsibility
Oversee all SAP invoicing
Report Shipping Volumes (monthly and for the quarter)
Report Weekly on the Shipping Status for the current month
Assist with all financial queries both internally and externally, i.e. from service providers
Comply with Financial Policies and Procedures
Protect company assets
Provide Production information to Marketing
Maintain and update Master, Rail, Road & Shipping Books
Monitor production levels, ensuring they are in line with shipping requirements and/or Order Books
Optimise the Order Books to deal with imbalances
Monitor and optimise shipping costs and/or inventory levels
Ensure compliance with Marine Transit Insurance and other in- and external rules, regulations, policies and legislation
Arrange Site and Logistics Service Provider Shipping instructions
Oversee all SAP Invoicing transactions
Oversee the finalisation of all Customer Shipping documentation
Conclude all 3rd Party material Quality and Weight inspection certificates for all port incoming and final shipment end Customer analysis
Coordinate the booking of container and bulk vessels freight desk or freight broker
Coordinate the dispatch to Local customers
Monitor Rail service provider performance as per SLA
Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to analyse, identify trends, initiate, mitigate, investigate and report SHEQ status
