We are seeking an experienced External Sales Representative to cover the greater KZN area, for our client supplying abrasives in the construction industry and other industries.

This is a fully remote role and you will be reporting directly to the Sales Manager and Managing Director in Johannesburg. You will be solely responsible for building the brand within the KZN region.

MUST HAVE RELIABLE, OWN TRANSPORT - will be compensated with allowances.

This is a permanent contract.

Duties & Responsibilities
Our client is a leading international player in the abrasives industry and is looking for an experienced technical product sales person to increase their market share in KZN.

To plan and carry out external sales activities within his/her defined sales area.

- Plan and carry out direct marketing activities to agreed budgets, sales volumes, values, product mix and timescales.

- Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support, and liaison with internal order-processing staff.

- Carry out market research, competitor and customer surveys.

- Penetrating competitor markets

- Ensure effective customer satisfaction and after sales care,

- Perform internal and customer facing presentations

- Liaise with internal office to produce client proposals and manage the delivery and follow up of such with the client.

- Attend monthly sales meetings and one-on-ones with the Sales Manager

- Delivering of invoices and assisting with collection of payment, when required.

- Always maintaining integrity and sound business practices

- Seeking out new opportunities constantly with both stand-alone and chain accounts within established region

- Meet sales goals and objectives assigned by the Sales Manager

- Communicating new service and product opportunities, feedback, special developments, or information collected during field activity to the Sales Manager

- Participating in marketing events like trade shows, seminars,

- Coordinating with company staff to achieve the work required in closing up sales.

- Provide weekly feedback relating to lost sales and back orders.

- Submit monthly call planners by the last week of the month for the month ahead - Daily update of CRM with visit information and telephone calls

- Shall provide a plan for their sales area annually, showing the following information,

Sales per customer in the previous year,
Sales extrapolated for the current year,
Sales plan for the next year,
Target customers.

Desired Experience & Qualification
Previous external sales and territory management experience is essential – min of 3 years

Experience in sales with construction materials or tools will be highly advantageous.

Experience with sales in technical products (abrasives, welding, grinding, belts, discs, cutting, polishing, sharpening, buffing, etc.)



Package & Remuneration
Salary: R15000 basic plus allowances (fuel card & mobile phone)
R8500 car allowance

Contract: Permanent
Location: KZN - willing to travel in greater KZN.
