Our client is a leading producer and distributor of food products and is base in Montague Gardens. They want to appoint a Factory Manager to oversee the production at their main plant and to ensure it happens according to required specifications and quality standards.

Duties:

1. Ensure effective general management of all areas in the main plant and cold store.

2. Manage, motivate and control all the staff working in main plant and cold store area.

3. Ensure attainment and measurement of daily production and operational targets.

4. Set and plan production goals and communicate it to key personnel.

5. Plan, document and measure the daily production output of all production lines and sections in the main plant and cold store area.

6. Organize, co-ordinate and control the daily production activities in the main plant area and cold store.

7. Plan daily production with all section managers taking into account worker capacity.

8. Manage, maintain and enforce food safety procedures and requirements.

9. Monitor, maintain and ensure that all personnel abide by specific conditions of employment and to all company rules, regulations, procedures and policies.

10. Ensure, manage and enforce good hygiene practices and housekeeping of all the areas in the plant, cold store included.

11. Manage, maintain and enforce quality standards, policies, procedures and requirements.

12. Implement financial controls to ensure costs are kept within the alloted budget.

13. Oversee and manage effective stock control over raw materials and consumables.

Requirements

A minimum of matric/grade 12.

A tertiary qualification in production management or a relevant certificate, diploma or degree.

At least 5 years experience in a factory management position in the foods and beverages industries.

Own transport and a valid drivers' license.
