Salary: AED 25 000 (Approx R112 000 per month) inclusive of housing allowance

Flights: Round trip + once per annum 30 days leave

Ultra-High Net Worth Individual in Abu Dhabi is seeking to employ a Farm Manager with extensive experience growing fruits and vegetables, experience in products such as tomatoes, capsicum, dates and alfalfa in a dry/arid region would be ideal.
You would be responsible for the overall management of the farm, overseeing scheduling, preparation, planting, growing, harvesting, processing, packaging and delivery.

Minimum requirements
• Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or a related field
• Minimum of 10 year's farm management experience including vegetable farming
• Experience in fertilisation and protection for date palm, fruits (especially mango, orange, banana, ziziphus) alfalfa and rhodes
• Experience in irrigation water management using a scientific approach
• Plants propagation techniques
• Agricultural management in a dryland/arid region
• Knowledge of international best practice in the production of agricultural products
• Experience managing large teams
• Experience working with hydroponic systems (desirable)
• Valid South African Passport

Responsibilities:
• Management of Open Field, Greenhouse & Net-house production environments
• Supervisory management of the following key activities:
o Scheduling
o Preparation
o Planting, Growing & Harvesting of crops
o Processing & Packaging of all produce
• Delivery of all produce from the farm
• Budgeting and costing of produce-related activities
• Organisation or fertility assurance and pest control measures
• Irrigation systems management
• Oversight of product quality control and post-harvest product management
• Field scouting, crop rotation and cover cropping
