Ladieswear Fashion Buyer - Wynberg, Sandton
Salary: R20 000 – R25 000 CTC per month (dependent upon experience).
To start immediately/asap

A large and well known Fashion Apparel company with their Head-Office based in Wynberg, Sandton are currently looking for a Ladieswear Buyer to start as soon as possible. Experience is essential

Great opportunity available for a seasoned buyer specialising in Ladieswear looking for a new challenge and working environment.

Purpose of the position:
A clothing buyer is responsible for filling retail stores with fashionable outfits that the consumer will buy. Travelling internationall, source merchandise to meet trends, presentations, supplier liaison & working with Planners etc. to maximise sales and GP.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required
Matric
Relevant Merchandise Diploma/Commerce Degree in Fashion
5 years’ experience in a similar role in the clothing retail industry
MUST have experience with Social Media Marketing - Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat
Knowledge and experience in buying of fashion merchandise
Experience in systems & procedures for buying of merchandise
Knowledge of merchandising theory and practice
Skilled in a defined area/portfolio of buying (Ladies Merchandise) - Specific experience in ladieswear clothing will be a distinct advantage
High level of numeracy and advanced excel skills
Excellent negotiation skills and decision making abilities
Excellent attention to detail and highly organised

Duties include, but are not limited to:
On a daily basis, a retail clothing buyer is responsible for maintaining store inventories and forecasting customer demand
They work with store managers to properly display the clothing in the most marketable positions. They also analyse market trends to stay abreast of what is selling currently and what may be selling in the future
Clothing buyers negotiate with vendors to obtain the best prices and to schedule deliveries to the retail stores
They attend clothing fairs and vendor shows to see what is coming out and to place orders for their stores
Provide a balanced assortment of Merchandise in order to meet sales budgets and profit targets
Effect appropriate stock turn levels and increase market share.
Build assortment with appropriate product development and testing, including marketing and vendor briefing and workings, and oversee sample management.
Build business partner and supplier relationships, ensuring appropriate delivery of information both ways
Adhere to supply chain plans and manage critical paths
Travel according to plan
