An Internet Service Provider in Stellenbosch is looking for a Fibre Optics Technician / Assistant

Requirements:
- Basic understanding of fibre and how it works
- Knowledge of fibre splicing and components
- Knowledge of fibre switches and equipment
- Knowledge of fibre terminologies (LC, SC, ONU)
- Able to read building plans
- Good interpersonal skills and comfortable dealing with clients
- Punctuality
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Great sense of ownership and accountability
- Must be a fast learner and inquisitive
- Ability to be proactive and solve problems with minimal assistance
- Ability to perform in a pressurized environment
- A Valid drivers license and own transport is preferable

Role and Responsibilities
- Installation of backbone fibre and fibre related equipment
- Installing of new fibre clients on our fibre sites
- Installation of trunking according to plan
- Feedback on the progress of fibre projects as issues as they arise
- Adhering to deadlines as set out in the fibre project plan
- Liaising directly with clients as and where required
- Willingness to work after hours / weekends when required

The ideal candidate will be friendly willing to learn. Hard working and determined. The candidate must be comfortable working on ladders and at heights.
