Job Description:
The Financial Manager will work closely with the Financial Director on all operational and strategic aspects of the business, providing strategic business support in addition to managing the finance function and implementing systems and controls around financial reporting, risk management and operational performance. The Financial Manager is responsible for planning and directing financial accounting, budgeting, cashflow forecasting, auditing, reporting, tax and other fiscal operations and functions for the Agriculture Division. This includes directing staff activities in maintaining, analyzing and reporting financial accounting data, establishing necessary financial controls, approving various expenditures and obligations, planning and coordinating audits, and ensuring all activities conform to statutory legislation (incl. IFRS, Tax Regulations and other applicable legislation) and company policies, procedures and approval framework.


Duties:
• Ensure financial discipline throughout the Division by providing support for and driving the strategic business plan; continuously reviewing performance against business plan and highlighting deviations and opportunities to the business. Proactively assess future business needs
• Manage finance operations of the Division by driving the preparation, review and dissemination of monthly management accounts & all related functions.
• Effectively manage the professional finance team by fostering a spirit of committed and collaborative teamwork
• Manage relationships and interfaces with the Group office, Divisional business units and sister Divisions
• Maintain sound corporate governance and ensure compliance with tax legislation, and Group policies, procedures and Approval framework

Job Competencies:
• In-depth knowledge of financial principles and processes
• Good understanding of relevant legislation
• Good understanding of core business principles and processes
• Good knowledge of cost accounting within the manufacturing environment
• Exceptional communication skills
• Ability to manage conflict
• Highly computer literate

Qualifications:
• CA(SA) Qualification or equivalent

Experience:
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a similar level
• Previous experience managing a professional finance team essential
