OVERVIEW OF ROLE:
The Finance Manager works closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Operations Executive to ensure the management and coordination of the company’s financial function according to sound financial systems, practices and processes that comply with relevant legislation and financial reporting standards and enable the company to achieve its strategic financial objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Strong IFRS knowledge and experience with practical application of various IFRS standards, applicable standards – IAS 9, IAS 15, IFRS 16
• Strong financial accounting and management accounting skills.
• Must be able to review and implement internal controls, standard operating procedures and process documentation.
• Review monthly, quarterly & annual management accounts and financial reports for submission to the CFO , CEO & Bidvest Group.
• Review and approve monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and assist senior financial accountant with complex journal entries.
• Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and loan balances
• Ensure overall integrity of the trial balance and general ledger to ensure all transactions are accurate, valid and timeously processed.
• Review the Fixed asset register and ensure that assets are maintained as per IAS 16
• Review of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts payable and oversight of the AP& AR teams
• Preparation of expected credit loss calculations and disclosures
• Responsible for the day-to- day treasury activities and management of forex exposure and cover levels and reporting thereon with the treasury accountant
• Review of the cash forecast and planning
• Review tax calculations and submissions
• Preparation of interim and annual financial statement information, including the compilation of
the Group reporting financial and tax packs.
• Assist with the annual budgeting process
• Collaborate with cross- functional teams and finance related projects.
• Will be involved in due diligence work relating to acquisitions.
• Any other statutory functions/requirements
• Oversee accounting staff including performance management

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT
• Manage relationship with external auditors.
• Manage relationships with external stakeholders as required.
• Assist internal stakeholders, as required, with financial support

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Qualified Chartered Accountant with +/- 8 years post articles experience in commerce
• Have knowledge of foreign exchange & fair value adjustments
• Excel skills essential
• Strong management skills

• Experience with Sage X3 is an advantage
