Purpose of Position:

Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a Finance Officer for a Manufacturing company based in Cato Ridge, eThekwini, Durban, Kwazulu Natal.  Experience in a large, high pressurised environment essential. Applicants must be willing to work long hours when required, especially during month end (overtime pay will be applicable in this case) and have Import/Export/Manufacturing accounting experience.

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations. Must comply with the Financial Administration Act, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and municipal financial by-laws, policies and procedure

Qualifications:

Grade 12; Related Finance Diploma and/or CA Accounting Degree
MS Office (Advanced EXCEL) and sound computer knowledge, SAP, SAGE, etc
Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Drivers License and own transport, able to work long hours when necessary

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Main activities

Perform the day to day processing of financial transactions to ensure that finances are maintained in an effective, up to date and accurate manner for the Business Entities.

Audit:

Handling all Statutory, internal and other audits
Preparing and getting audited the quarterly audit pack, variance report, related party transactions and other details requested by Head office.
Prepares the annual financial statement (AFS) for audit as per the latest rules & regulations.
Maintain the secondary set of books (IGAAP) as required for stock exchange reporting in India.

Closing of books:

Approve MRC's, work orders and other AP related transactions
Helping in A.R. with any technical issue arising.
Passing JV's for the month and ensuring all liabilities have been accrued & booked
Ensuring that all documentation for VAT desk-audit by SARS is provided on a timely basis

Statutory Compliances:

Filing of VAT return by 25th of each month.
Filing of EMP201 return in time
Filing of half yearly employee tax reconciliation (EMP501) in time
Earning (ROE) is calculated correctly and filed in time for COIDA requirement.
Income tax return for the company (ITR14) is filed in time with proper back-up and supporting schedule for future use.
Complete the compulsory supporting requested by SARS (IT14SD) within the stipulated time and within stipulated margin laid down in Income tax act.

Insurance:

Helps in the annual renewal of the asset, marine & business interruption policy
Ensuring that claims if any is paid on a timely basis by insurer
Checks the monthly declaration done for trade risk insurance

Management accounting:

Updates the management account pack with the supporting schedule for reporting and group consolidation
Help in analyzing the movement in accounts with rationale reasoning
Maintains the secondary set of books in ERP (IGAAP) as required by stock exchange in India

Regulatory/ External liaising:

Co-ordinates with municipality for the monthly rates & taxes and water
Provided STATSA or other government agencies the required information on performance of the company

Stock Control & Asset management

Ensure that the system stock are matching with physical stock at any given point of time. Sample stock take conducted every month and detail stock take once a quarter to ensure the accuracy of stock
Physical verification of Assets in line with accounting policy and ensure all assets are tagged properly

Others:

Handles all master related review activity in Oracle:
Customer master
Supplier master
Item master
Co-ordinates budget preparation activity for the company"
