One year contract

Job Description:

To manage the finance department, preparation of financial reports and the monitoring of the financial performance of the business unit
Assist & support Debtors and Creditors managers with any queries/recons. Monthly review of PASTEL Debtors and Creditors balances
Review of sundry creditors reconciliations
Cash flow analysis & cash management
Processing & approval of month end journals
Accurate and complete general ledger accounting
Reporting to head office via Hyperion
Review all balance Sheet Reconciliations
Assisting & review quarterly reporting of internal controls, ensuring sound financial controls are in place and adhered to
Ad hoc reporting requests from head office
Internal management reporting
Presenting monthly financial results to Imperial Managed Solutions management where required
Monthly payroll
Liaising with HR department to ensure payroll information is up to date and accurate
Calculating salary structures for new appointments
Dealing with all payroll queries from staff & head office
Tax administration including submission of EMP201 and VAT 201 returns
Review and submission of all CAPEX requests to head office
Review fixed asset register monthly
Assisting management in achieving BEE targets, identify gaps and execute plans to improve BEE ratings
Review monthly BEE procurement report submissions
Review of month end packs of subsidiary company
Ad-hoc projects and reports as required
Assist with annual budgeting process
Co-ordinate and assist with the internal and external audit process
Preparation of Account reconciliations for transporters
Preparation of monthly flash reports to head office
Mentor and coach subordinates
Manage the performance of subordinates
Manage the discipline in the department according to the company’s policies and procedures
Identify training and development needs for staff members
Give input into the recruitment and selection of staff members
Weekly and monthly costing reports

Qualifications:

CA(SA) qualified
Sound knowledge of Taxation Legislation, IAS Standards, IFRS and Companies Act
System knowledge: Soloplan / Excel / Pastel
Strong financial, taxation and auditing skills
Computer experience in Word, Excel, and relevant accounting packages
