The purpose of this position is to develop, manage and implement IkamvaYouth’s financial and sustainability strategy. The incumbent will manage the Finance function and organisational funds in such a manner as to maximize return on investment while minimizing risk and ensuring that an adequate control structure is in place over the organisational spend and utilisation of funds. Furthermore, he/she is required to oversee the efficient running of the Finance and Tech departments and to support the senior management team.

Responsibilities:

? Support organisation’s financial decisions by producing financial project analysis, forecasting and risk reports
? Lead and implement the finance strategy of IkamvaYouth
? Set department objectives and design a framework in which objectives can be achieved
? Ensure the organisation has sound financial policies, functional systems and procedures that fully support operations
? Oversee compliance with all statutory requirements and internal policies (including but not limited to: filing tax returns, VAT, EMP 201, EMP 501s and IPR5s)
? Ensure annual audit is performed on time by external auditors
? Develop and maintain sound financial internal controls
? Produce all required financial reports
? Oversee operations of the finance department
? Manage all pertinent Finance related communication to the organization
? Participate in IkamvaYouth’s national leadership, management and decision-making structures
? Oversee day-to-day financial administration
? Develop and maintain a functional asset tracking and management system
? Support staff training/on-boarding in terms of finances
? Support branch audits to maintain financial controls and accountability across branches and national teams
? Develop and implement the organisation’s Tech strategy in partnership with the Tech Coordinator
? Oversee operations of the technology development department
? Set department objectives and design a framework in which objectives can be achieved
? Ensure that all staff are trained and inducted into IY’s finance policies and procedures
? Ensure that branch visits are done at least once every two months
? Work from a branch to promote team cohesiveness and gain a better understanding of context on the ground

Minimum requirements:

? Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
? Relevant accreditation advantageous (CIMA, SAICA)
? Minimum of 8 years’ relevant high-level finance experience
? 3 years’ Management accounting experience
? 3 years’ leadership experience
? Proven record of developing and implementing organisational finance strategy
? Strong financial reporting and financial accounting experience
? Advanced budgeting and forecasting experience
? Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations
? Computer skills and knowledge of computerized accounting packages and other software (MS Office, Excel including pivot tables, Pastel Evolution, Sage VIP,
ESS)
? Must have experience of a cross-cultural environment;
? Knowledge of all accounting principles, GAAP, and automated accounting systems;
