Sovereign Foods, a national supplier of top quality poultry products to markets via various brands is seeking to employ a Forklift Operator at the Feedmill in the Agriculture division. The successful incumbent will be required to safely operate a forklift truck to unload, stack, reclaim, transfer and load bulk bags, palleted bags, flow bins, etc. of raw materials, hand additions and finished feed as directed by line management.
This position reports to the Shift Manager and Production Manager. The successful incumbent should be in the possession of a matric certificate or equivalent, a valid forklift truck permit with excellent reading and writing skills, be at least 18 years old and have at least a year’s experience in operating a forklift in a warehouse or feedmill. A mechanical aptitude will be advantageous.

Results Required
• Operate forklift truck safely and drive on approved routes;
• Perform and record daily checks as per inspection sheet;
• Ensure operating hours of the forklift truck is recorded and scheduled maintenance takes place;
• Safely receive, store and reclaim raw materials;
• Safely receive, store and load finished feed;
• Safely transfer fines/sweepings;
• Safely transfer bags of hand additions and feather meal stacked on pallets;
• Abide by all company policies and procedures, in particular the safety, health and environment policies and procedures.
