RECRUITING: Frail Care & Geriatric Nursing Sisters for KZN:

We are recruiting 2 Senior Nursing Sisters (one for permanent NIGHT SHIFT and the other for standard DAY SHIFTS)

Main Job Focus
Nursing and clinical management of the facility including care, medication and risk management
Management of the entire healthcare team including Duty Sisters, Frail Care Sister, Staff Nurses, ENA's and Carers. Ensure that work is done within scope of practice and translates in the highest level of care of residents
Facilitate the admissions and discharge procedure of all patients (long term, palliative, short-term and sub-acute)
Professional interaction with family of residents as well as Doctors and other relevant Healthcare Professionals
Manage services to village residents through the Village Sister and Carers
Ensure all company policies are adhered to and followed by all staff in the facility
Manage the tablet-based electronic charting and reporting system
Liaise with the in-house multi-disciplinary team including, Nursing Service Manager, Food Service Manager, Dietitian, Group OT as well as onsite OT, Social Worker and Admin Manager to ensure that all objectives are met

Requirements:
Qualifications - Relevant nursing qualification as Registered Nurse / Professional Nurse, SANC registered

Experience and Knowledge - Informed knowledge on Dementia and Alzheimers disease, frail care, sub acute (dependent on facility), palliative care, strokes, must have recent hospital experience. Experience in managing a shift as Unit Manager is an advantage

Skills and Attributes - Strong interpersonal skills, professional communication, ability to work under pressure and lead a team, managerial skills, making sound decisions, computer literate, professional, focused, fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English, compassion for the elderly, be able to converse with people on different levels staff, families, MDT and other professionals coming into the facility, ability to work independently and as part of a team
