The role of the person is to execute the delivery of the entire hospitality experience, to meet and exceed customer expectations in the tasting room and tasting room in terms of wine and food offering. The successful candidate will be an excellent organizer and communicator with a proactive and friendly attitude towards all customers.

Job Description:

Daily checking of emails and ensure 24-hour turn-around time on all customer enquiries.
Maintain and expand current customer base, whilst upholding the highest level of service standards that will result in consistent return of customers.
Promote products, services and events to customer base on premise as well as through approved customer relationship communication methods.
Assist and provide input on year plan activities and promotions for restaurant and tasting room.
Assist with routine maintenance and repairs of equipment as and when required.
Effectively coordinate front-of-house team for both restaurant and tasting room.
Ensure service standards and company procedures are implemented and executed as required.
Identify and correct performance gaps by way if appropriate corrective action including instruction, coaching, training, disciplinary action and performance counseling
Report team performance to senior management
Conduct opening and closing duties of tasting room and restaurant.
Ensure that establishment is adequately stocked, cleaned, set up for customer service and that all equipment is in good working condition.
Ensure the front-of-house team is fully briefed and carries the necessary knowledge to uphold customer service.
Welcoming of guests upon arrival, resolving of any customer queries and/or complaints.
Ensure that all COVID-19 protocols are followed
Checking with guests to ensure that they are enjoying their tasting room and/or restaurant experience
Upselling of products and/or services available at the company
Daily cash up procedures and ensuring the purchases and receipts balance at the close of business
Attend and host evening functions on premise when required.
Provide sales feedback from point of sales system.
Monitor and review visitors’ experience to identify opportunities for improvement
Plan and control the day-to-day operations of the establishment including procurement, inventory, facilities maintenance and work scheduling and assignment
Ensure compliance with licensing, hygiene and health and safety regulations

Qualifications:

3 – 5 years’ experience in hospitality
Excellent communication skills on all levels
Computer literate
Point of sale system experience
MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook at intermediate level
Strong knowledge of customer-facing food and/or wine services
Own vehicle and driver’s license
Natural leadership skills with an eye for detail
Must be able to work weekends, public holidays and, when required, after hours.
