We have an exciting job opportunity for a General Manager: Digital Platforms and Services to join a leading global telecoms company in Johannesburg. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of the architecture for the delivery of consumer and digital services. Your key job responsibilities as the General Manager: Digital Platforms and Services in Johannesburg will include:

- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the setting up of frameworks and approaches for technical architectures to support the Digital Services and innovation strategies
- Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Digital Platforms and Services team by developing and driving the strategic plan for the function ensuring alignment to Technology’s overall strategic goals as well as Groups annual goals and objectives
- Provide leadership and guidance to the Digital Platforms and Services management team in the achievement of set annual goals
- Oversee the design and implementation of the architecture, associated with the digital platforms, to support the delivery of digital services, ensuring integration with back end systems and enablement of the delivery through multi-channels (web, mobile, social, etc.)
- Manage Digital platforms, ensuring its maintenance and developing and maintaining an understanding of the and applications portfolio
- Drive the standardization of the digital and VAS platforms across the Group, driving
- Drive excellence and innovation, by keeping abreast of new trends and technology

Requirements for this General Manager: Digital Platforms and Services in Johannesburg:

- Degree with Honours (B Eng / BSc Degree Preferred). MBA / Masters advantageous
- 5+ years of Senior Management Experience
- At least 3 years of Technology Strategy experience
- Minimum 10 years in telecommunications industry (advantageous)
- Exposure to digital technologies in the space of APIs, ecommerce and analytics
- Work across diverse cultures and geographies
- Industry recognition and Technology publication
- Proven track record of business improvement and strategy development
- Keen understanding of the digital business and the capabilities to leverage
