JOB CONTEXT:
The Group Leader Curriculum Development Academic will support the curriculum and Evaluation Unit to ensure the development, management and quality assurance of NITI’s training program, ensuring that the area delivers outstanding education provision where quality standards and the needs of trainees are met and often exceeded. The role will include the line management of teaching and support staff.


Basic Job Requirements & Accountabilities:
Description
Conducts surveys to determine training needs of clients and identifies specific outcomes of these trainings.
Coordinates the review/assessment of current curriculum to ensure that course/program is meeting intended objectives and requirements
Develops and maintains research database that may be utilized to develop and review curriculum at a later stage.
Participates in the development and evaluation of new curriculum. Conducts research and consults with faculty, staff and business representatives in the design and development of new curriculum.
Uses evaluations and data to make recommendations for how to improve and edit curricula on an annual basis.
Consults with all levels of management to gain knowledge of situations requiring training and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies which may involve training
Develops or assists in the development of curriculum to achieve NITI goals and objectives
Identifies and leads a team of teachers who will assist in curriculum development.
Actively pursues opportunities to continue to learn best practices in curriculum writing through research, professional development, and other learning opportunities.
Selects or develops teaching aids such as trainer's guides, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, and computer tutorials for training. Works with the Curricula and Evaluation Unit to review and revise training materials.
Creates final assessments to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of training
Identifies guest speakers and trainers on topic, and develop activities that will train teachers academic content and in best practices in education.
Develops training evaluation criteria and methods to evaluate the outcomes of training and whether they adhere to the overall objectives of NITI.
Contributes to the improvement of the quality of teaching delivery and the motivation of staff in the Unit by participation in classroom observation and staff appraisal, probationary assessment and other staff performance processes.
Ensures that the trainees in the curriculum area receive excellent support including advice and guidance, interviewing, initial assessment, tutorial and enrichment.
Sets objectives for the faculty and monitors and evaluates their performance and provides valuable feedback and suggestions on a regular and ongoing basis.
Administers all E-Learning modules and makes training available in a web based fashion.
Participates in special studies and projects regarding new systems, programs, policies, or procedures
Attends training and other developmental activities and keeps abreast of developments in the training field to maintain a high level of knowledge and competence
Performs other related duties as required by the Marketing & Development Director.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree in Education Administration or in Curriculum & Instruction
Eight years of relevant experience, including at least four years of professional experience in training program development and evaluation.
Supervisory role for at least 3 years
Exposure to Middle East a advantage

Technical:
Knowledge of current techniques and procedures used in the design and development of curriculum
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction essential
Ability to develop, design and review textbooks and training materials
Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and authoring tools
Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
