POSITION: GROUP REPORTING MANAGER
REPORTS TO: GROUP FINANCE MANAGER
DIRECT REPORTS: ONE (1)
JOB OBJECTIVE:
Responsible for the Reporting & Accounting function of a group of companies. Formulates and maintains group accounting and financial practices. Responsible for the controls and documentation relating to income and expenditure. Prepares financial reports for the executive to support the financial decision making process.
• Provide management reports for the entire group
• Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements
• Leadership and mentoring of staff and co-ordination of their activities
• Developing and implementing financial management controls to minimise financial risks
• Assist with the internal/external audits
• Timely reporting of financial results to external parties
TASK DESCRIPTION:
• Produce monthly consolidated management information
• Produce weekly sales reports
• Review and analyse all inputs to the packs
• Provide ad-hoc management reports
• Provide variance analysis and commentary in support of the packs, incorporating notes and updates
• Continually adapt and improve management reports as agreed with CFO
• Manage the timetable for monthly and annual reporting
• Review company bottlenecks and recommend changes to improve the overall level of company throughput
• Assist in compiling key business metrics and report on them to management
• Create additional analysis and reports as requested
• Consolidation of group results with assistance from Group technical accountant
• Preparation of the Annual Integrated Report
• Assist with the preparation of the Annual Impairment Tests
• Assist with the preparation of the Business Combination/PPA Process
• Assist with the preparation of the Annual Financial Statements
• Investigate new systems for reporting and ERPs
• Improve controls at Head Office
• Maintain and improve Cognos Controller
• Accounting for acquisitions and disposals of businesses

SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:
• People management experience
• Proficient in Excel
• Cognos experience is critical
• Listed company experience preferential
• FMCG/Pharmaceutical experience preferential
• Large Multinational Group experience preferential
EDUCATION:
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))
• At least 5 years post articles experience
