SENIOR HARVESTING FORESTER / MANAGER - West Africa
Forestry qualification and 10+ yrs Commercial FSC Plantation Harvesting Forestry experience, essential.
Market related USD salary package in the region of USD 3000 p.m. neg. plus large company benefits including, free accommodation and generous annual bonus.
Planning and control of all plantation Timber transport, harvesting, thinning and clear-fell activities. Educate and develop a large team's skills & knowledge and to ensure the implementation of high-quality modern plantation forestry practices. Responsible for the recruitment, management, development, promotion, disciplinary and termination decisions of direct reports and subordinates.
Experience in the development of Annual Plan of Operations; Forest road engineering, thinning and harvesting; field assessments and land-use planning; Good understanding of FSC principles and criteria and commercial forest management; Understanding and experience of Microforests plantation management system; Possess a valid driver’s license/international driving license with a clean driving record and experience driving forestry roads; Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written communications, sound presentation, analytical and computer skills.
The Harvesting Forester shall play a pivotal role in driving the development of the Company, which aims to be a leading example of plantation forestry in West Africa.
