Pick Me Recruitment is looking for an Experienced Head Chef to take charge of the overall kitchen operations of a top-end restaurant in the Winelands. The restaurant has become a destination for great food, service and wines and has won numerous accolades over the years.

The perfect candidate is someone with a strong background relating to Classical Fine Dine Cuisine and exceptional culinary skills, with a love for food, experience in running and managing local or international top-end restaurants, quality driven, a leader, stable and able to perform under pressure.

Minimum Requirements & Key Responsibilities:

• A formal Culinary Education
• Minimum of 3 years‘ experience as a Head Chef at a top-end local or international restaurant with strong Sophisticated culinary background
• Responsible for menu planning and costing recipes, food consumption, strict stock controls, stock management, stock movement, rotation and ordering and supplier liaison
• Excellent control of food cost, wastage and kitchen preparation
• Ongoing staff training and development
• Ensuring the team has high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety
• Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport
• Proven track record with examples and references
• Matric
